The Chautauqua Chamber Singers was formed in 1978 by a group of singers looking for a small ensemble with which to sing, other than in their church choirs, and has now become Chautauqua County’s premiere select vocal ensemble.
Over the past 34 years, it has evolved into an auditioned only, semi-professional group. Members are individuals with diverse musical backgrounds, talents and training.
Repertoire spans Elizabethan to 21st century music, classical to pop. Under the umbrella of Community Music Project, Inc., the Chautauqua Chamber Singers perform three to four concerts a year, including their “Twelfth Night” concert, which has become a Jamestown tradition, ending to the holiday season for many in the area.
